Elizabeth is passionate about bringing music to communities that don’t have access to it. In 2019, she founded the Butler School Collage Series Community Concerts. These concerts take Butler School of Music students into the community to share high quality classical music with the community and give the students performance experience.

 

Violinist Elizabeth Kilpatrick is active as a teacher and performer in Richmond, VA. She maintains a private violin studio in Northside and works as a freelance violinist often performing with the Richmond Symphony, Spacebomb Studios, and Candlelight Concerts. Elizabeth also actively seeks out opportunities to bring inclusion to the arts by working with students with learning differences and students from low socio-economic communities.

Elizabeth has previously served as faculty at Clavierwerke School of Music in Austin, TX; the Michael Rudiakov Music Academy in Vermont where she co-founded a Suzuki violin program, the Greater Richmond School of Music, the MusicTree, UT Austin String Project, and MusicLink, an organization that works to pair music teachers with students who are in need of financial help for lessons.

As a performer, Elizabeth has given recitals throughout the United States and appeared as a soloist with the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra and the Skidmore Chamber Orchestra in Upstate NY. She currently plays regularly with the Richmond and Williamsburg Symphony Orchestras. She is a former member of the Central Texas Philharmonic, the Glens Falls Symphony, and the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra.

Elizabeth has formerly served as the Artist Liaison for MKI Artists and the Administrative Coordinator for the Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia. She is also the founder and former Artistic Director of the Butler School Collage Series and a former board member of The Belvedere Series.


Elizabeth completed her Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance and Arts Administration and Management at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas, Austin. She is currently working towards her MBA in Arts Innovation through the Global Leaders Institute. Elizabeth has also studied with the Suzuki Association of the Americas to receive training and certification in the first three Suzuki method books. She is passionate about teaching and sharing the benefits of music with her students. She strongly believes in the importance of inclusion in music and the arts.

Elizabeth currently resides in Richmond, VA. In her spare time, she loves gardening, volunteering in the community, and investing in her friendships along with her pup, Butter.
